Assistant Chief Gerald Walsh's lifelong dedication to law enforcement began when he joined the Leon County, Florida, Sheriff’s Department as a deputy, marking the commencement of his impressive 33-year career in the field. This journey paved the way for diverse roles, including service as a Tribal police officer for the Seminole Tribe of Florida, a State Trooper in West Virginia, and an officer with the Alpharetta Police Department.

Having successfully earned a degree in Computer Forensics, Gerald specialized in this area, pioneering the digital forensics unit for the West Virginia Medicaid Fraud Control Unit. His expertise further evolved as he established a specialized technology unit within the Fulton County District Attorney's office. Throughout his career, Gerry's exceptional abilities were honed, encompassing investigative techniques, evidence processing, report and complaint development, courtroom readiness, testimony, and analytical proficiency in handling digital evidence.

Gerry's commitment to continuous growth is evident in his pursuit of numerous courses and certifications, enriching his capacity to support case preparation and prosecution. He has consistently contributed as a member of specialized task force operations and as a manager of large-scale, multi-jurisdictional investigations. With a passion for collaboration, Gerry relentlessly advances his skills and knowledge to champion justice for crime victims.
