Foster

Residents who decide to foster will open their home to a shelter pet for a few days to months. Fostering makes room for other animals to come to the shelter and allows animals to grow and heal from medical procedures, behavioral issues like shyness, and allow kittens or puppies to become old enough to be spayed/neutered before being adopted.

What We Provide to Residents who Foster

LifeLine provides all veterinary care, starter pack of food, crate for dogs, and other supplies. Fill out the foster application to get started. If you are having trouble with this form, email foster@fultonanimalservices.comor click here.

Weekend Warrior/Weekend Foster

Residents who are unable to commit to long term fostering are able to participate in the Weekend Warrior program. The dogs eligible for this program are medium to large sized pups who have been at the shelter for three months or longer. Participants will need to commit to having the dog at least four days. Pick up is on Friday and drop off is on Monday.

Please allow at least 72 hours for a response.

Weekend Warrior Guidelines

  • Arrive at the shelter during your pre-approved time. You will be given a leash, collar, an "Adopt Me" vest/bandana, crate, starter food, and the dog’s LifeLine business cards.
  • Place a towel or sheet in your car for the dog to rest on.
  • Make sure you are comfortable with the dog.
  • The dog must be on leash and in your control (within 6 feet of you) at all times while you are in a public area.
  • Dog parks are NEVER allowed for liability reasons.
  • Do not feed the dog human food.
  • Take photos and videos of the dog in various circumstances and provide feedback to content@lifelineanimal.org . This information will help match the dog to potential adopters.
