Arts and Culture Unveils the Message from Our Ancestors Exhibit

A solo exhibition featuring works of artist Derrick Phillips at Emma Darnell Aviation Museum and Conference Center.

Fulton County Department of Arts & Culture announces the unveiling of a solo exhibition featuring contemporary works of mixed media/printmaker artist Derrick Phillips. “Bullet & Nooses II: Message from Our Ancestors” is a body of work that speaks to the African American experiences regarding racial injustices while offering the viewer messages of hope, strength, and guidance. “I seek not to glorify the loss of black lives, but to uplift their very existence and also take the time to give my people their flowers while they can smell them.”

Exhibition Opening Saturday, October 15, 2022
Reception on Saturday, October 15, 2022 from 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
Artist Talk on Saturday, November 5, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

Tuesdays- Fridays 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
