Executive Director, Assistant District Attorney, Daysha D. Young is a lifelong Georgia resident, educated in public schools. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from The College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts. She earned her Juris Doctorate from Mercer University, Walter F. George School of Law in Macon, Georgia.

Daysha began her legal career as a prosecutor at the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office. She began prosecuting drug felonies, armed robberies, thefts, and violent crimes. Daysha was eventually promoted to the Crimes Against Women and Children’s Unit, where she found her passion. In this unit she was responsible for preparing and prosecuting cases involving sexual assault, child sexual and physical abuse, and homicides. She has also served as the Deputy Chief of the Crimes Against Women and Children Unit in Fulton County. Daysha later joined the DeKalb County District Attorney’s Office as the Director of the Special Victims Unit.

In 2021, Daysha rejoined the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office as the Executive Director of the Special Victims Unit. She is an experienced trial attorney who has expertise in trying cases involving homicides, sexual assault, child sexual and physical abuse, domestic violence, and vulnerable citizens of the community.

Daysha is a member of several of committees and organizations, The Child Abuse Protocol, Sexual Assault Response Team, US Attorney’s Firearm Project, and SART State Expert. She is a member of the Georgia Bar Association, Georgia Association of Black Women Attorneys (GABWA), National Black Prosecutors Association (NBPA), and the Greater Atlanta Black Prosecutor Association (GABPA).
